Title: The Sweet Smell Of Success
Name: Isaac Pring
Country: United Kingdom
Software: Maya, Photoshop, Shake

Hiya this is my final degree film. It invloves a caveman, a dung beetle and the invention of the wheel.

Take a look and let me know what you think. My main focus was on character and animation so comments on this area would be great although all round comments would be good too.

It was all created in Maya with post done in Shake.

Here is a link to the page holding the film to download. There are several different size of download in both Quicktime 6 and DivX format.

Looking forward to any comments both good and bad.

Cheers

im amazed no one has comment yet.

i found the whole animation amusing but ill stick to C&C on the character and animation.

Caveman:
good modelling. average animation. i love his hair tho. the caveman on its own suffers from comparisons from preceding cliches that i was hoping could be shaken off, but thats a design decision so if you're OK, im OK.

Beetle:
the beetle was really good. predictable modelling/style. excellent animation. i felt that in the beginning, the part where he is pushing the pebble, his walk could define him more that it did.

Overall:
the overall animation is perhaps too colourful. the purple beetle against the yellow ground at times was a bit much.

all in all a very good effort. a few changes here and there i think would make it an even better presentation.

i specially like the TV report jump cuts.
hope that helps.
cheers
