CGTalk - Snapping points to anothers value

Hi

I have read about the snapping options in Foundations manual and in the training dvd's. My question is can I select a bunch of points and chose to align them to say, the z transform value of another point? I have enclosed an image to illustrate.

Yes you can... Just lock the X and Y-translation in the MCP and use a snap to point...

Enable 3d manipulators (or widgets if you like).

Select your points to be aligned.

Press "X" for scale.

Alt click on the target point.

Pull the appropriate manipulator handle while holding "ctrl"... it will snap at 50% and 0%... stop at 0%.

Edit: Changed a mis-remebmbered command ("ctrl" did say "shift").
