for only two weeks of animation, thats alot of "not bad" content. i'll divide the good and bad comments in two paragraphs.

the good:
i see some strong poses/gestures/silouettes. ie. the body shapes bending (forward curve/reverse curve) changing as he is running during the beginning of the animation.
the camera placements lead the view nicely.
strong way of starting the animation.. ie. running.
i esp. like him climbing up the rope. strong use of gesture and shifting of weight as he climbs up.
the animation sequences are very diversed. from running, climbing, acting "being chased", swimming, exhaustion from swimming, etc. smart thinking.
the theme of animation that you chose is one that i personally like.. you know the cartoony type of animation (ie. tom and jerry/ loony toons/ etc). i think that, thats the type that ur going for right?
the second stop where he turns and runs into the door is great! great use of positive and negative shapes with strong poses. the timing is good too.. for a two week progress.

the bad:
well actually, i cant say its bad, because im assuming that ur blocking in all the poses right and not only that but at two weeks.. that pretty fast. not only that but it is a work in progress and not a final piece either. so anyway..

the beginning of the animation is a great style of running that you chose. but i feel that the poses can be pushed farther and make the silouettes read much more. like when he makes that sudden stop from sliding. that forward bend can be pushed much harder. sway the (right) arm way over his head. and bend his head lower so that the arc can be more continous. kick his right leg farther and harder out as he makes that sudden stop. since he is trying to regain his footing/weight from having all his weight on his left foot. i also saw you bend the thorax more towards the left and thats great.. but have his arms follow that twist more, esp. his left arm can be pushed back more to give more of a feeling of a thrusting back due to the thorax shifting. have his head bending down instead of looking at the camera during his sudden stop. his head should bend down due to all that weight trying to be stopped.

the arms (during first run sequence) could have much more life to them. esp with that style of run. the arms should flail around more giving a sense of flight and panic. and the corresponding hands should flow with the arms.

anyway, i have to go work on my animation as well. but, take what you can from it. im just a student so my words are not from a professional. hey, if you got the chance, check out my animation work in progress. its only about 6 seconds verses ur entire minute! i think ur pretty good for only two weeks of animation, something like that would probably take me six months... then again i am only animating for 8 months. but still.. impressive.

Great stuff mate.

Really nice weighting and nice strong poses.

I think Animation_Child covered pretty much everything that you might want to look at. To totally pick holes, I think the whole first section could do with a little more fluidity to it. It's a bit rigid at the moment and could probably do with slightly more arc on your curves. But for two weeks' work, it's incredible.

I reckon after another month's hard slog it'll be top notch. It's not far off as it is mate!

Good stuff.

Thanks guys for those reviews.
specially animation_child for that long and detailed review. i'll work on ur suggestions.
i'm working on my posing and silouettes.

i checked out ur animation ; ur opening pose is pretty good and his reaction to the ball.
but, u can improve the cushion on the ball.the block hits the ground very slow, and a camera shake on impact ,will work wonders with it.
when he lands after reacting to the ball ;his body is not facing the ball , that pose looks very odd.
his reaction to the block is pretty very late and casual.
just my two cents
thanks

hey anil,
thanks for ur input, you have relayed what others have said about the reactions being late as well. i should fix that.. its like the zillionth time that i am trying to fix that reaction. you know like when you work on a animation for like a million years.. bad stuff/things tend to not be noticed? thats whats going on with me. anyway, pls do post a update when you can. i'll be watching ur animation for updates.

p.s. did you really work on all of that in just two weeks.. it still boggles my mind. what kind of hours were you putting into it? like twelve hour days.. seven days a week? i could never produce that much even if i was a seasoned animator and not just a student.

hi anil,
Great to see some cool work from delhi. I loved the animation although I would agree on some of the prev crits. You are pretty fast to get that level of animation in 2 weeks..but would certainly like to see some more work on that... It has the potential for cgchoice award..(if you could put another month in.. just refining it...). Almost all of us in India (atleast those who have jobs) pretty much know a bit of all departments..and you certainly seem to. But incase you need help in any lighting or texturing..I can help..

Best of luck!
Lookin forward for more...

hey anil wassup! :)
nice work mate  looks pretty good .
rope part is really cool.
but,i reckon it lacks flow. everything happens on the same pace. pretty even
and flat. u can certainly improve those poses!
anyway!gr8 work man!

Hey animation_child i worked around 8 hrs a day for 2 weeks to get this animation and i think its easy to get this level of animation in 2 weeks.
