i am trying to create a impression of a old corner,a human skull and a big araneid …
To build the atmosphere of jeopardy.

I like the old textures, they're good for what you're after.


But personally I'd get rid of the specularity on the skull, makes it look like plastic. Go dull-white, almost yellowish, and if you want map the specularity channel to give it the irregular look: such materials are smooth where they are touched most.

Good textures
Little work on skull texture, because it looks odd. Also apply some dirt sort of map for merging with the environment.

As the others said, you should work on that skull texture. It looks like a toy skull. The spider is too specular as well and it should have much more hair. (Or none at all)
