Hi all!

I have a problem wich i hope it is solvable. I downloaded model of a human head, i rigged and painted weights. But then when i was painting weights i realized that mouth are closed (they doesnt have a hole. So i deleted a couple of faces and it looks all right. Until i made a blend shape for a head than those faces came back again.

I am stuck here i cannot delete history, couse then i will loose all my weighting, i only tried to delete the "deleteComponent" node, but the faces where back again.

I also tried to export skinweights so i can deleteAll history but when i imported skinW back again they was disordered not where i wannet.

So plese gurus help me out, and thx in advancel.

Bye

go to http://www.highend3d.com/maya/mel/ and search for aeSkinWeightsTransfer.

Then you can export the weights in worldSpace, detatch the skin, edit the mesh, delete history, rebind it and put the weights back on.

the difference is that it is doing it all based on worldspace, so its OK to change the geometry.
just make sure when you rebind it, you do it to the exact same joints.
to select the joints that a surface is skinned to .... select the bound surface and run this.

select -r `skinCluster -q -inf`;

that will select all the joints, then make a set, so you can easily select them when you rebind.

if you using Maya 6.0 try "Delete History Save skining"
