Hi

Currently I working on a 19" crt and a small 60 hertz 14-15 inch one. I always work on two moniters and could never go back now. I'm doing all my 3d work on this one workstation. I also use it for a spot of fast paced gaming and dvd watching.

I want to upgrade the 15" to a tft, preferably to a 19". However I can afford a 21" one I'm just wondering if its worth it for the few extra inches? Does anyone find it actually helps or hinders them.

If I do get the screen, should I use the tft or lcd for the primary moniter. taking into account that it will be around 20ms response time, so I might get a little ghosting in motion work.

Also If anyone can recommend a moniter that would be helpful.

Cheers

Simon

I'm using a 19" crt now and I think getting 2 extra inches (a 22" crt) can improve my productivity a lot. When I design a site in Flash I can hardly see my whole site, I can only have a little timeline so I have to scroll the whole time, thus losing time. This is the same for working in 3D, particular when texturing/rendering something when you need a lot of different windows open. I also have a 17" on my left side, but I hardly use that one because I then have to turn my head a lot, which I don't like.

Well about the crt or tft, in general crt's have better color for graphics professionals. And the price quality ratio is better. Just compare a good 22" crt with a 20" tft, both are 1600x1200 res. The price difference is high.
So yes, the more screen space you have the better for us graphics professionals. Good luck with your choice!
