View Full Version : HDRI lighting

Hi im a bit new to HDRI maps and lighting, in the past i just use the maya renderer and light my characters with 3 point lighting. But i want to go a step further and light my character much more realstically with mental ray. Is lighting using a HDRI map the best way. Is it just mapped onto a sphere with final gather in mental ray. When i tried this the lighting seemed over exposed in some places. Do additional lights have to be added. Has anybody got some advice on this topic.
