View Full Version : Problem: MR Mad Velvet Limitation on Selected Faces
chocobo2k 11-06-2004, 09:58 AM I have been assigned a mad velvet shader to a selected faces and a maya blinn shader to the remaining faces but when I render I get only the mayashaders and MR shader doesn't appear as expected ( only color with no back sheen or scattering). Is this a limitation of of the shader or bug may be ?
Although I like it so much but could this problem solved.

I haven't tried to duplicate the bug, but couldn't you simply work around this by assigning a Layered Shader to the whole object, put the Velvet at the bottom of the stack, then put a mask in the transparency of the other shaders, to reveal only those faces you want 'velvety'? Gives you finer control over where the edge is anyway, even if the edge may be slightly less razor-sharp in extreme closeups.
