hi, the way that i found to import to c4d from adt2005 is:

import the DWG in to max.

export the DWG as a DXF (R12).

and then import in to c4d.

the main problem is that the c4d arrange the objects by layer (as in adt2005) with no ability to choose just on wall.

in max it is working fine (as an independent objects).

i tried to explode in adt and then to export, it stays the same...

what can i do, can c4d correct that?

the explosion tool that i saw in c4d wasn't meant for that, right?

thaks

So you're saying that all the parts are coming in as one object and you want to explode them to separate objects? If so you need to use (in R9) Structure>Edit Spline>Explode segments. Why is this under "Edit Spline" you may ask? I guess for the same reason the Split command is in there, i.e., they're in the wrong place.

Its actually prety easy, Just make sure your objects in acad are in separate layers. And if you want to separate layer x into different materials just change the color of individual obects and export to dxf release 2000. In cinema in the import dxf preferences change it from "connect by layer" to any of the two other options wichever works as you need. Then your imported geomtery will be nicely arranged into groups.

txIn R8 it's Structure>Edit Surface>Explode Segments.
