Hi everybody

I start working on a sony p900 mobile today. It is my second project since I started using Maya 2 weeks ago. I do need some good advise and tips on how to make a good model.

did not make a lot of pragress today, pc keep crash:shrug:
also that f***ing keypad has take me a lot of time to fillet, trim..........
does anyone know a better way of doing it?

DAY 3

today I made some progress after yesterdays disaster pc crash.
I now finish model the parts which are symatric and mirrow them. I will start stitch the phone together tomorrow.

Dont know how to render wire frame. Can u tell me how? I am using Maya.
I have the actual phone and I took some photo of it as references

I don't know maya, but I guess you can just set the view to wireframe and make a screenshot, sorry cannot help you more, you have to ask someone else, maybe in Maya-Forum here... I guess there should come a fast answer....

almost had enough of maya, it crash my pc 12 times in 5 hours :(
I think this will b my last model uding NURBS- will try learn ploy next.
Today I have finsh model the left side panel and here is the pics

I still have not figure out how to do a wire frame render.
So that will have to wait till I finish this model.

I think I will call it a day for modeling my p900. I finished put all the text and icons on the phone. But still dont know how to do proper lighting and shader editing. Will go shopping 4 a book tomorrow and start learing again!
Here r some close ups next time it will have a proper lighting( after I figure out how course, also will snap shoot some wire later).
But I think this is ok 4 a total beginger, what do u think?
