Title: Aircraft: Q-5 Attacker
Name: Wang Gang
Country: China
Software: 3ds max, Photoshop

This is my latest finished work, Chinese NanChang Q-5 Attacker. I love this old warbird;)

The work was began at the end of last year. Most of the time I used to draw those huge textures in Photoshop. I had decided to get some big renders before I do this work, so the texture maps must have enough details. Hope you would like it;)

Thank all the friends which offered comments in my WIP thread:)

The picture is really good :). The only thing I could think about is a very delicate motion blur on second plan airplanes (cause their motion vector differs from camera's one).

cheers

Yop:bounce: !!!... It's really realistic, good work!!!...
Personally, I find that there is not enough of depth between the planes, they should be more and more in the fog, the clouds or others while moving away knowing that there is of it already!!!...
The plane in the foreground should be as it's and different the increasingly fuzzy one while moving away... the engines from the planes should have a light smoke or a light blur because of the heat of the engines...
In short, I haggle a little because this image is already terrible!!!... Good road!!!...

The best aircraft render I've ever seen. Very nice work on modeling and texturing! Congratulations here too :) You've got my five star (I'd give you 6)

Thanks for all the comments!;)

I also feel the scene does not have enough depth:shrug: I'll try to avoid this problem on my current project:)
BTW, In this angle of view, it's difficult to show the blured trails of the engines. The background is already blured and it will looks nothing happened if you blur it again, moreover, there is nothing in the foreground behind the trails, so you can not blur something in the scene to make us feel the heat of the engines;)

neu, after reading your reply in my current WIP thread, I asked myself: Why not try it? haha:D Thank you.

Saw this one before but never responded.

I do like the level of detail. It's good to see some Chinese jet fighters, I am really starting to become a fan of them as I read about them, sort of a retro-upgrade look to them, they have style :)

Awesome man... really great lighting, texturing, modeling... top notch :)

As for the composition, yeah they look a tad crowded... I would have liked to see more space between them, and maybe some DOF to give it some depth. But aside from that it's truly excellent.

Hey, this one is... i can't find words. I love combat aircraft, and this one looks so real, it almost broke through my monitor. The only crit, all the aircraft look very sharp, but they are flying at high speed (i guess) and they are not flying in formation. Some motion blur could do. Perhaps some depth of view as well. Anyway, great job.

Hey Songbird

Another terrific piece from you. A great example of 3D aviation art at its best !

I'd also really like to see your B17 from previous threads, do you have the images posted elsewhere as all the links are broken here on GgTalk ?

Hi kevjon, here is the link to the final render of my B-17G, do you have seen it? This image is the only one render of my bomber, I did not make any other one:)

Hi Songbird,

Thanks for the link on your B17G. I'm a big fan of this aircraft and stories surrounding its missions . Beautiful work as well and looks very accurate !

I hadn't seen it (as the links were broken) but it sounded pretty good from peoples comments in the thread and also from the type of work you did on this aircraft and your current WIP. I'm more of a WWII aircraft fan than modern jets so this is why I was so keen to see it.

Your do excellent work and I realise how far I have to go yet before attaining this high standard.

Nice work - but - and this is just a suggestion.... Perhaps you should have some subtle DOF in the image - The most distant aircraft should not be so sharp

I had completely missed this post!
Congrats on the award and 5 stars from me! :)

PS. One comment though... In real life, in a formation flight, the wing leader is the first to break away in a turn ;)

Reality is the prize. The only difference between those 3 warbirds and the real thing is that they don't exist.

Models like this make me wish I could see more of this model from other angles, to see ALL of the impressive detail.

Very, very good.
