View Full Version : clean animation
Antonio79 11-05-2004, 12:15 AM hi, I'm trying to animate the legs of a character who stands and then it crouch down, my problem is that animating the legs (without IK), if I set the first key frame and the last one, the foot moves and it appears as if it is sliding on the ground, how can I make an animation to move things directly from a point to another without that they moves in other directions in the inbetweens? I added other keyframes in the inbetweens but it appears like it is shaking. Thank you!

Check your curves on the feet, if they are set to spline then their may be a slight arc between the two keyframes. Also i assume your using FK legs in which case they will follow the movement of the hips, and will require more keyframes to keep firmly planted on the ground.
but i would check your curves in your curve editor. i dont know what program your using but in maya its the graph editor, and i bet 20 bucks that there is a arc in your keyframes. and by setting your curves to steped your linear should fix the problem.
Hope that helps a little
