View Full Version : fur baldness map problem

hi all! I have a fur problem..... I map the baldness to a uvset to have fur only on some places of a character and all goes good but in the render I have the fur map ok but in the places that I dont want fur I have it too....like if I have grey in the map file but if its black means no fur I think.... I do something wrong?

well seems that I found out the problem.....I was saving the map as a jpg now I have saved the same jpg as a iff and now all goes fine.....seems that the problem is the compression of the format even if you see full black in the map

The perfect black is 0 0 0 and only that gives you 100% baldness but jpg format compression add some noise to the imaje even if you see it black but try to move your mouse of the image and read RGB values and you may get 1 3 1 or 2 3 2 so it is still black but not 0 0 0 black thats why I am using TGA format and it is still good.
