View Full Version : I need help about drawing....
SwanKnight 11-04-2004, 04:53 AM Are there alternatives to buying the book: "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" ???
I'm not a very good artist and I want to hone my skills or start to develop potentialities, and I've heard suggestions about buying that book.. but with no money spend... it's not within my reach. Can anybody give out their two cents?
P.S. I know it's kinda inapproriate for me to ask question about drawing in the animations forum, but anyway, 2D animations is made of drawings lolz... and I plan to animate some concepts I've had for years. So can anybody suggest something for me, some alternatives?:bounce:

Hey SwanNight
I know its easy to get frustrated. But really to get better at drawing is to do it a lot.
I recommend finding guesture drawing workshops and just go as much as you can. It is intimdating at first, but the people there will make you learn a lot. Also nailing that strong quick guesture pose will really help you become a much better animator.
Man... I should get back to the guesture workshops... I haven't been there in ages and I am rusty as heck!

Though money and time might be a problem, I would be able to ask some friends to try gesture workshops, overspending doesn't seem to affect them. :D
A bit of trivia, I was good at drawing, but that was 2 years ago... and I haven't honed it enough to meet standards. I'm looking at a more flexible self-meaning I can draw perspectives, I have depth in my sketches, and proportion in detail; if I ever draw well in the future.
Thanks man.
