129??

uhmm... i would be careful of where you buy your software, i'm not familiar how much a 1 year copy is, it may be 129, but if you are looking at used copies or copies off ebay, don't do it.

go with studica.com or journeyed.com, those are the two largest student software retailers :)

I don't know if this might be different in other countries but here in holland the 100€ (~129$) version is valid for two years, not one. With new max versions coming out quite fast these days that's more then long enough.

You might also want to contact a normal reseller, they are all allowed to sell student versions, though from my own experience i noticed they don't all do it because of the little they make from them.

/me continues to wait for his shiny new max7+turbotoolkit to arive...

I got it online, i first contacted the reseller in my town but they told me that student licenses were only sold to educational institutions and not to individual students and they answered my questions about the turbotoolkit with: we don't sell plugins, we recommend digimation for that...

So i figured there had to be a better place to get it. I then went to www.3dstudio.nl (http://www.3dstudio.nl), they answered all my questions quickly (and with correct info :)). So my first impression from them is very good, although i haven't recieved my max yet (can be any day now) so it's not much more then a first impression and i can't say anything else about them yet...

2 options for student version in Australia

"full version" for 2 years, about $770 (has all printed manuals etc)

"CD version" for 7 months (???) for about $120 (no printed manuals, just CD's and DVD case).

It is available for students, not just educational facillities, but of course you have to show student ID, enrollment details etc.

I have no idea why they chose 7 months . . . 6mths would be a semester. So, if you don't need the printed manuals, I would just renew the license every 7mths of your course.

ok i made a lil boo boo :|

i bought the turbo toolkit 2 thinking that i could use the rest of my 20 day trial i have left on max 7 and have the plugins functinality until the 18th which is when i get paid next and have enuf to buy max... wrong :| i talked to my dad and hes going to loan me the money for max :D

it requires a student version, imagine that, heh. basically my question is this

is there a place where i can buy max now and get it registered without having to wait for the cd/dvd to ship? i have max on my computer so waiting for it seems a bit silly...

plz help!

are you saying that the student turbosquid stuff needs a student license of Max to work? Sorry but your post is a little confusing.

Check the discreet website for resellers in your area. There are tonnes of them and they could get a copy out to you quick smart, I should imagine.
