Posting my question in here 'cause i think the pro's are sitting around.

character A&B challenge (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=165731#post165731)

How to do the rigging of such a character?
I'm not that new to cinema but to character modeling and rigging.

I like your character

If no one has replied bud its usually because after a while with the challenges people just go straight to the threads with the big replies mounting up.

Rigging my advice would be check out one of the C4D zygotes and look at how its done with those models :)

ok...
First of all if you have sharp corners like this, ok course the shape will result squared; to smooth the corners just move the edges (in the point mode) tryng to NOT have corners, maybe adding some face!!
Hope this help!!

Ah... if u need to rig that character, first of all define a skeleton using Bones, than define a weight map for each bone, in order to define the area the bone will affect. Than remember to place a restriction TAG for each bone (just type the name of the interested weight map). Using the IK maybe Kiwi's advice is the best one! Anyway u can define a pose even without using IK.
It's quite a long work...
