Hi everyone! This is my first post in this amazing forum. I think I am really gonna have some serious fun around here and I'm looking forward to contributing in any way I can.

And what better then being welcomed with a GREAT challenge such as the current. AWESOME. I've been seeing some WIP from the users and I found passion and talent in large amounts. Great motivation!

Anyways, I have in mind a picture of a last defense... kind of an intergalactic Thermopylae. I'll have some sketch and story soon...

In that case, we are both very creative and know how to appreciate one of the most heroic events in history. And we have to do some great work to honor that! BTW... great work you've got in your thread! Anyways... the idea that I am developing is not as close as Thermopylae as yours... mine is more like a hopeless defense of an exodus. You know... gain time in order to allow people to scape. As soon as I get home, I'm gonna post some sketches. THE CLOCK IS TICKING!!! Thanks for replying though.

"The enormous Monay battleships have landed just a few miles away from the human city of Sapha. They can be seen in the distance, breaking the Saphyr's moon blue horizon. It's a beautiful sunset, and the final attack has begun. The Monays have but only one objective: wipe Saphyr clean of humans. Earth's orders are clear: abandon all cities and settlements as soon as possible: reinforcements are not to come anytime soon. Sapha's defenses are weak. The scarse human army is fighting agains all odds, buying time for the last transports to take off. This battle will be known as 'The Saphyr's Stand'."

Well, not the most original but It can certainly render some great epic stills...

Onto the concept: not ready yet. But I am modelling the human transports. Here's the model as it is now.

S**T! How do you paste a picture in the reply???

This is the model I came up with for the transports leaving Sapha. It's based on an old concept of mine.

Yet another view of the transport. I'll be adding vertical elevation turbines, cargo ramps, landing gear and OF COURSE more detail.

Hi Pablo, the main idea looks good, and for the first pictures, I bet this gonna be a cool entry, I´ll keep and eye on this post to the the updates, the transport looks very good, very alien/starship tropper feeling.

Suerte!

Ok. Here's an almost finished (might leave it like that) model of the cargo ship. I'll begin texturing as soon as I can figure out what colours to use. Should I stick to the classic starship-gray or go for another. I was thinking in painting it military green with a light blue belly. Kind of WWII fighters. Please post your sugestions. Thanks a bunch!

Well... could't help start modeling, its a medical condition. But now, I will start developing the concept (pretty important thing, isn't it?). It comes down to this:
The city of Sapha is being evacuated. The human army is protecting it agains te massive Monay attack. The city is huge, but well delimited. The starports are located on the top of some huge buildings, from where the transports are starting to depart. Human fighters cross swiftly the sky into battle and shooting down the enemy's aircrafts that have eluded the firsts lines of ground defenses. Some transports are destroyed, thousands killed. Smoke rises everywhere. The point of view shall be from above of one of the starports, high (very high) over the ground plane. In the background there will be the battle raging, while in the foreground we can see the evacuation in progress. Well... I'm not very much into drawing but I will surely be making some sketching of the whole idea for you to see. Thanks again!

PS: Plaguelord - Starship Troopers rules! ¡Aguante los Roughnecks! It sure was an inspiring movie. Not very appreciated though... go figure. Thanks for posting.
