"What happens in Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden is staying in Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden, at least for the coming sweeps period.
NBC has pulled its expensive but modestly rated animated comedy "Father of the Pride" for November sweeps, which begin Thursday (Nov. 4). The network will expand its unscripted series "The Biggest Loser" to 90 minutes for three weeks starting Tuesday, Nov. 9 to fill "Pride's" 9 p.m. ET Tuesday spot. "

I personally didnt care to much for the father of the pride show. I thought it was dirty and not even funny. The most laughs I got was when S&R were complaining about Matt Lauer. That was funny. I didnt really think the stories were vary interesting. You might be able to get away with something like that if it was a movie but not an entire series people will just stop watching and go watch CSI: Anchorage.

Yeah I saw this coming a mile away. The idea and show just seemed lame. Throw this one in the short lived "CG cartoon graveyard" along with Gameover, Reboot, Roughnecks, and Beastwars.

Beast Wars??? if i remember correctly, that show was on for a few years and so was reboot. the otheres i guess werent on that long. Father of the Pride was an awsome show, a good change of pace. the animation was excellent, i couldnt believe it was a weekly show.

yeah, I stopped watching that after the first episode. I love to laugh, yet I didn't even bust a chuckle at all during the entire show. it just wasn't funny.

Nah, I'm ready for adult content... that show was just lame. PDI/Dreamworks seems to be constant in their humor at least. They constantly degenerate to really crude humor... that's not adult, that's juvenile.

Jokes were predictable...stories were lame...animation was sub-par....no disrespect to anyone who worked on it....this just didn't cut it.

Beg your pardon but Beast Wars had a finale episode that ended with a big bang. It was not cancelled.

Reboot reached Season 4 and went on a hiatus after that.

FotP was too raunchy and 'haha'. I prefer clever comedy that you don't see coming from a mile away. I think Rolli Polli Olli was a great melding of animation and story... and no, I'm not 7 years old.

Really, is anybody surprised by this?
It was a poorly written mess.
Good riddence to some extremely bad rubbish.

I always enjoy it when people choice one type of humor over another. Especially when the main difference is only if ones animated or not. People call FoTP "raunchy" & "dirty" yet laugh thier butts off at insulting comedies like "Seinfeld" and "Everybody Loves Ramond". Go figure!

Most of today's TV is poorly written, but that's just how it is and will be for a LONG time to come.

I thought the show was pretty funny. I didn't have high expectations with the show, so it surprised me with the humor and content. I hope it stays on.

I read somewhere that it costs over $2 million to make each episode.

It's a shame. <img>

Some of the people who worked on it said the best episodes were the ones yet to come. Supposedly the technical/artistic issues had been solved & the character & storylines were solidifying. They also said that the early ones aired were not the strongest creatively, but had the most recognisable guest voices eg Lisa Kudrow, Andy Richter, Eddie Murphy etc for NBC's marketing strategy.

With people in other threads moaning about the future of CG, I would have thought we'd all be pushing for this show to succeed & open up another avenue of employment for CG artists & more chance of greenlights for other CG series proposals.

Or...I guess we can go join everyone else working on reality shows? Who's got the number for Mark Burnett Productions....anyone?

it's call FotP and the funny guys on the show are S&R. I find it almost funny but the jokes just fall flat for me. My wife laughs at all the jokes, however, she enjoys most sitcoms. If not for her I would never have seen even the first episode.

I'm simply not surprised by the flop of Fop, I wactched the first episode and it was pretty lame. CG ok, but the theme was really lame.

Sigh... you're right... it's our fault for not caring enough. Why were we such fools?

From now on I'm going to watch every single thing with CG in it. Everything!

I thought Sinbad was proof that celebrity voices isn't enough to make something successful. Their logic seems reversed. You should start off with your solid material, and when that starts to run out, THEN you pull in the celebrity guests to save yourself. (worked for Friends and every other sitcom)
I'm sorry but you normally don't become a "celebrity" because you have a nice voice. I don't go, "man I gotta watch that show Jennifer Aniston is in it, her voice is sooo hot!"
