I can't tell you much about realizm200, but I've only had good experience with FX4000 and Maya, I've also worked on machines with FX3000 and 1100 and all of them were stable and worked without issues.

Thanks for your experience.

I see benchmarks of SPEC Viewperf that indicate score in Realizm 100 is higher than Quadro FX4000(almost in every test. But all what I concern only is performance of Maya.)

Here's the link : http://www.spec.org/gpc/opc.data/vp8/summary.html

Is that show us Realizm series more faster than Quadro FX4000 ?
Can I trust that result of test ?

hi there

both card has the same spec memory interface : 256-bit and agp 8x, but FX 4000 only has 256 mb instead of Wildcat which has 512 mb, personaly i prefer to compare wildcat 200 with FX 4400 which has the same memory size 512 mb, but fx 4400 requires PCI-e16x.... in which until now i do not have any information regarding significant performance between VGA card with agp 8x slot and PCI-e16xlane slot

as for Maya application, most (i think all) of the card from wildcat 4 7210,7110, wildcat vp 990,980,970 does not support or has a limitation on Hardware section at maya website "This card is not recommended for use with Hardware Rendering as not all features are supported", some other issue problem.

but when 3dlabs launched their new Realizm series, there is no limitation issue from maya application especially for wildcat realizm 100 & 200 and, this goes the same for fx 4000, so the choice is yours...which one to choose

i also have wildcat realizm 200 equipped with AMD Opteron 242 and 2 gigs ram from corsair and see no problem running maya apps

Very useful informations ! Thanks to tata79 !

OK...at least both of them are stable and no limitation issue now.
It seems like getting more and more difficult to decide which one to buy...

Can you tell me more about real performance of your Realizm 200 in Maya ?
Is it really fast and good as their claim on product ?

Would you mind testing your realizm 200 in "SPECapc for Maya 5" and show us the score ?
"SPECapc for Maya 5" you can download here:

Thank you very much !:)

It's OK~ Don't worry about it.:)

Can you directly show me the 4 scores of test about "GFX","I/O","CPU" and "Overall" ?

Thank You Again~

We are actually working with a Realizm 200. And we must say, that there is a pretty good Performance with these Card. Ok, it´s DirectX 9 compatible but u can forget about playing FarCry for example also since its supports Shader Model 3.0. (I´m not technical involved why that doesn´t work) The performance of Wire in Maya, is double (!) in comparison with a 6800 benched with the SPECapc for Maya 5. ( I cant really belive, that the FX4000 is that much faster than the 6800!) The Realizm 200 for example has a huge amount of Ram (512), and you can Work with Textures up to 8000x8000 pixels. Overlays Particle, texture stencils and Artisan etc. everything is smooth.Ok, I dont know what the FX4000 can, but in comparison with the Price, the Wildcat might be a good deal. We payed roundabout 900€ for that Card - so you know what a Fx4000 costs.... Do some Holiday for these saved Money, or buy a Renderslave!

I Think I wouldn´t buy a FX 4000 until I really know why.
(be sure to have enough Space for these Card.... it´s looooooooooooong...

so long !

....ähem... before I forget about what I read:

@ splintah:

// i mean its got 4000 in its model name
// the other one just 200
// says quite a lot

are u sirious with your statement !?????? Sound a bit like Teleshopping.... *lol*

Hey Man ! - I´ve got a Asus 9999TD Damn!! it´s MORE THAN TWICE better then the 4000!

HuiHUiHui
(for clearness: that was ironic.)
But I hope Junlin got it in te right throat.

good n8
