Hey everyone,

well I did a search on the whole forum and didn't come up with anything useful. I'm currently working on a scene, in an hightec environment. I would like some fairly even neon lighting coming from the ceiling. What would be the best way in 3ds max to create a neon light? Lightwave has a way of making an easy fluorescent light but I don't know any way to do it in Max.

Thanks for the input!

There's many different solutions for neon from simple output maps, to plugins, to renderer specific materials. So before blindly answering, which renderer will you be using?

If scanline or MR, then there's a sample radiosity scene that ships with max that has neon in it (don't remember the name of the file off the top of my head though).

Brazil, Mental Ray, Vray, etc have their own material solutions.
