well... i just so happen to have a few good photos of meteors impacting that i took last spring... :P
no but seriously. this summer i visited meteor crater in arizona, and one of the things mentioned in it's little exhibition was that the crater impact displayed very similar attributes to subteranean nuclear explosion test sites. so possibly a good place to start would be looking on the web for those old bits of footage of underground nuclear tests they did in nevada. from there it appears that most models of metero impacts tend to take the view of some sort of jellification of the ground, and the result is rather akin to a water drop like impact (from an angle).
