Hey everyone

I would like some feedback on my project

The car was modelled in Rhino, textured in Photoshop, and rendered in 3ds MAX using (with Brazil as the renderer)

It was my first atempt at modeling a car,

What does everyone think?

Thanks for any input

Very nice...although too clean to be a rally car :)

I agree, too clean. I personnaly dont like models that are too clean/shinny. I like dirty, rusty things. Makes it look better IMO but very nice modelling.

I think it is pretty cool. I am not sure if a rally car would have
!such! a low profile tire. The rims need a little contouring or something, they look flat. Beyond the wheels, which is only my subjective opinion, this thing as really COOL. :bounce:

Cool, big fan of rally cars !

Good work on the textures but the car looks abit compressed, like its shorter than it should be ... or maybe its just the angle ?

Anyway, good job !

very nice job.
the tires are fine as long as its ridding on pavement.
lol
and the car looks great clean
they are always clean before they go out and get the crap beat out of them by the drivers..........
I love rally.

looks pretty sweet, I love the Impreza WRX rally, like 350-400hp. Sweet car almost the best next to the older Audi Quattros(Killer Bee):D :applause:

Well I like it....
To be honest I am a bit tired of hearing: but some dirt on it...I agree that in many cases a little bit of dirt makes 3d models look a lot more "real", but there are times when the models are supposed to look "clean"....take a look at most advertising photos...not much dirt there, they even got people working full time cleaning the products....

Back to the image....I think you should try to model the front lights too....that would give it that final touch...

And the front grills look a bit mapped to...maybe a bump map would help...

Thanks for the input everyone, I appreciate it.

I guess the small image lost some detail :)

The grill is bumpmapped, but you just can't see it at this res.
The camera angle also makes the car look shorter than it is.
As for the tires, this is the tarmac setup (lerge rim and almost no tire :) )

I'll probably do some improvements (such as the lights and rims) when I get a chance

Here's the sideview

I like them clean,, like a show car is,, but a rally car would be cool to be done up in mud.

did you use mostly sweep2rails, I'm finding that surface tools to be one of them excellent ones of all. Even thought I still love using lots of lofts and blends, I like them old classis look of smoothness.

But hey your car looks great on all counts, seen many of them on the net,, like Audii TT's but hey its your firts right. and for that,, DAMN your really good.

keep up the excellent stuff.

The car looks sweet , I especially like the hood. You should make a dirty version of it too, right after it has raced.
