View Full Version : WIP portrait ultra real
daimwn 10-30-2004, 04:50 PM I'm trying to make an ultra real painting of my girlfriend. I've only got about 5 hours into it so far. I know that Captain chapo is doing the exact same thing right now in this thread but I realy wanted some feedback.
(bad image) Please read down for updated.

Sorry about that it might just be too large of a file which was my fault entirely. Herse a smaller version and the url to it on my site. http://www.freewebs.com/daimwn/portrait.htm

Pretty girlfriend !
It's coming along nicely with the skin shading creating a real sense of form. I think what might look slightly wrong with the mouth is that it's too small and not quite pink enough. The whites of her eyes are a bit light too- I know this is meant to indicate health and vitality but the effect is slightly overdone.
It's just a suggestion but to get a slightly more lively complexion to her skin you could always subtley add some primary colours to the mix. Maybe experiment with some low opacity yellows and reds about the picture ?
Good luck with this - it shows a lot of promise.
