So I am working on a huge job using Mental Ray in Max6...
I am working at getting my render times down and not spending an eternity in the samples closet...
I have been doing some research into adjusting the BSP tree to get better times...
I am having a tough time understanding what I am looking at with the diagnostic render view... I rendered my scene with the default settings and I get a fairly blue and green splotched map with some heavy red areas in the details and corners... by increasing the depth to 50 I can pull a render that has most of the red areas gone and is mostly blue and green...
what am I seeing??
what is my goal with this color variation, to remove the red? to do what?
I assume increasing the depth and dropping the size gives better results?
anyone have some easy to understand tips for me?
lots of the stuff I am finding is not helping with this...
Thanks
Jimbo!!
