...you have meshsmoothed them or do you only model while they are low poly? I tend to cut tons of edges when I want detail but I was thinking that cutting a few edges for the basic stuff and then meshsmoothing it (iterations on 1) to continue adding more detail sounds better. What do you think? Sorry about my english by the way.

It depends on the level of detail you're modelling to. If you've got a basic shape tha you want to add extra detail to all over, then yes, a meshsmooth and collapse to poly is great.:D

I prefer with character modelling to not add extra detail to a smoothed model. It is easier and more efficient to cut edges as you go, to keep control of the look, while smoothing to check results. Either that, or having a smoothed reference clone next to the one you are modelling in low poly.

Do you use meshtools?
