Just like they knew ESC was going bye-bye and not going to do it.

cool! Imageworks is definitely making leaps and bounds in the quality of their digital effects from feature film to feature film. I'm definitely excited to see what they come up with for Superman!

They did a great job on capturing Spider-Man, especially in the second film. I'm sure they'll go a great job on this as well. Congratulations to all those who will be working on this.

I feel sorry for ESC, but at the same time am very happy for Imageworks. Imageworks did awesome job with Spider-Man 2. Maybe Imageworks will hire some of the ESC guys on the project. The stuff they did with digital doubles in Reloaded and Revolutions was amazing.

Everyone in the industry has known this for a while.
Though not totally unexpected since there was an announcement about Stetson being overall VFX Supe weeks if not a couple of months ago.

He still is technically. From what I understand this is the same situation as with the ILM Supes on the Harry Potter films. They go on leave for the project to work directly for the film studio, but after they project ends they'll return to their VFX studio whre they were employed. It's a way for the film studio to have more direct control over the project.
