Hi
Im trying to use NatureFx2 (Dynamic Realities) clouds with Lightwave 8 resulting in an immediate crash of LW when the volumetric rendering starts.
Worked fine in LW 7.5C. Water calculations still work in LW8.

Anybody any ideas how to fix that?

Altenatively has anybody got a hypervoxelpreset that generates very fluffy, semitransparent,
foggy clouds (like a fogbank)? All my attempts leaded to quite harsh edgy effects, by far not as realistic as NatureFx.

Thanks
Holger

There was an alternative that I have used in the past - WaveFilter Volume. It's available at http://www.wavefilter.com/ and last I checked, it worked fine with LW 7.x. It's similar in design to the NFX way of defining clouds (using a bounding object), but it's a shader so I don't believe it allows for fly-though. You might be able to fake something by stacking layers of objects together with the shader applied - I got decent results out of it when I used it.

Documentation is available at http://www.wavefilter.com/WFVolumeFAQ.html and there is various source code available for those that want to work on it.
