Didnt know what section to post in, so I thought I would start here. Admin, you can you move this thread if need be.

I am looking around to find a good tutorial or text documents on Max 6 rendering using Mental Ray. Something that for the most part explains all the ends and outs of the settings and how to set up a simplistic scene (what lights to use). I usually render with Light Tracer and Skylight but I see more people rendering with that or Brazil I believe. Thanks for your time.

why wouldn't you just post in the max forum? anyways...the best place to start would be you manual for information on what every setting does. and then the tutorials that came with max. also, in the max forum there is a tutorial setion that you should check out.

you can look at the all mighty Mental Ray Shader Discussion (http://http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=104578) thread. you have to dig throught the babble though, and the search button helps a lot.

also, there are other threads in the max forum about mental ray and itīs use in 3ds max.
