This is my new character I am working on.

His name is Gleeg and when Gleeg was being hatched his controller dropped his Nardvak sandwich and bumped a nutrient lever giving Gleeg a whole big does offa stoopid instead of smarts.Gleegs home planet is called Intelligentius and everyone there is mega smart, until Gleeg that is,so the rulers of Intelligentius {Dave,Harry,Marv and Hilda} decided Gleeg needed a job,and seeing as how Dave hated taking out the trash Gleegs job became Universal Sanitation Engineer,or USE.Now that Gleeg had a job and the rest of Intelligentius no longer had to put up with his fashion sense he cruises around the universe in his garbage scuttle taking out da trash and getting in trouble doing it.

As I modelled him I tried to make him a cross between Homer a Hillbilly and an Alien of sorts.I thought the hideous pants set the character quite nicely,ie outcast.I also put the tic tac toe on his back to suggest he is so thick someone had a game of this and he didnt even realize :)

His feet are too big mate, really too big, they just don't fit....even for a comic character. From what I can see here the mouth is a bit unshapely...proportions are a bit funny (arm length and such), maybe there could be some depth to the clothing.....other wise cool idea....love the abbreviation!

Hmm, second thoughts, maybe for a dope his shoulders should come forward a bit and his arms drag on the floor?

hey that's one funny guy there! :D the only thing that bugs meare the arms aor better the shoulders. let them hang down more to achieve an even greater stupid-look. but plz post some bigger renders or closeups cause i can hardly see the face.

Interesting character Stu. The arms and legs seem just a little square to me. Cool clothes.

Thanks guys :D

I have made some updates to the arms etc.

Neil if I add more to the clothes like say a jacket it going to have to move independently of the character,so I went with ugly spandex, thought it fits his personality as well, those pants made me feel nauseous as I was painting them :D

I want to do more modelling to the face which is going to involve cutting some polys out,but as we all know then you have to make patches for those areas,is there any work around for this you guys know of?,or do you have to completely re texture to avoid this happening?

Thanks

Hey kiwi
Do you have sketches of the other characters or models to compear to?
It would make critting this chappie easyer.
my only sugestion so far is try lessening the grove in his head, some where between human and what it is now???

Sorry Matty this is the only character so far :hmm:

I have done some hacking on his head today so it looks different yet again, and now that I have cut out some polys I have to re start texturing again anyway because the uv is all screwed up,when I post next I will leave out texturing so I can tweak it easier :) .....thanks anyway though:thumbsup:

Now that we can see him I would say you need to add detail to the feet, especially around the toe nail/claw area...looks a little flat as is. I agree on the spandex, just though it would be nice to see a little overlap, or a crease or a hem or something where clothes end?

Otherwise not bad!

Ya I agree Neil.I also think I need more practise modelling anatomy before I take on a character properly as I can see even though its a comic charater etc you still have to use basic human anatomy :)
