the trailer is good... once you get through the system requirements, the browser requirements, the download, the sting, the opening adverts... microsofts vision of how web content should be :/

I have mixed feelings about it. I love the stuff scene on the trailer, but I hate the current leadership of the Walt Disney Company.
So... conflicting.

Great trailer, but by far the most annoying web experience I've had in a while. Quicktime's trailer page has the right idea.

When i try to view it it plays back all messed up , lines and static all over the media window and no image. Do I need to download some MS software to view that?
i guess its better to wait for it to hit quicktime.

movie formats online should be standardized - I would vote for all quicktime. Maybe the files are a bit larger, but I can make them work more consistantly with better quality than any other format.
Can't see it ... guess it demands BOTH Media Player AND IE ... ok ... won't see it.

Wow. Cool looking trailer. I think this looks to be a pretty good little movie they have there.
Now, that website. Holy crap! Force me to use IE6! What! Firefox didn't like that one bit. Plus my ZoneAlarm Pro privacy alert was popping up like crazy! I feel so violated after being forced to use IE6.
Must take bath now...

This will be the movie that kills Disney. Stick a fork in 'em. Put this trailer up against any trailer Pixar has done or any of the trailers Dreamworks has done. It's no contest. Unless the story is absolutely killer, say good-bye.

Cool trailer! It looks very funny - I believe Disney finally can have a comeback with this one.
Only complaint : this trailer should be in a more friendly format - streaming is evil incarnate.
Anyway, congrats to you guys and gals out there who worked on this!

Some friends and I were working on a little puzzle game based on Chicken Little (we started around 2000-2001), but it kind of died out in 2002 due to our lead programmer having medical and psychological issues that required treatment/medication before he could do much more work. But when I read the synopsis for the Disney take I couldn't help but laugh. We had wanted a story mode, and the first suggestion fired off was "How about an alien invasion?" But everyone agreed that this was in fact the most trite and cliche direction you could possibly take it. Most people I guess would say it is only natural that the modern Disney embraces it.

my gosh. the Internet already has a standard for official online movie content: Quicktime/Sorensen 3. leave it to Disney/Microsoft to reinvent an already perfect wheel. and suck at it royally.

Color me unimpressed with Dreamworks. Shark Tale was absolute garbage. This Chicken Little trailers eats that trailer for lunch. Also, color me unimpressed with Shrek, despite big box office. Neither the story or the characters in either Shrek film are worth a toot. They're just one long montage of jokes. How Shrek 2 made the money it did, I'll never know. Don't even get me started on their Sinbad, Spirit, Prince of Egypt, and El Dorado garbage. I'll take Treasure Planet, Lilo & Stitch, and even Atlantis over all of those Dreamworks films.

wow...what in the hell was with that playback? i'm using ie6 on a brand new computer with a broadband connection, and i was getting about .3 fps.
i'm so tired of that microsoft media player embedded shit... don't they realize it's always the same shitty quality? sometimes it doesn't even work. m$ seems one of the few ones outthere who think their player/ formats are the shit...

What a bunch of whining babies ! Just turn on automated updates for gosh sakes.
The trailer looks very funny. Really enjoyed the poking fun at the movies "Signs", "Independence Day", and other end-of-world big budget disaster films.

I guess if it works for Dreamworks, we can only expect Disney to rip it off.

I think it MIGHT be a different direction. The trailer looked good and the humor seemed a bit less "Disney". I'd have to say I'm genuinely intrigued.

wow, some of you guys really hate disney... here's a quality trailer for what looks to be a very well done movie, and you guys just piss on it. Just because Disney has made some mistakes in the past doesn't mean they can never make a comeback.
It's almost like some of you WANT it to flop. How's that supposed to help the CG Community?

Ok guys I found another avenue to watch the trailer.
http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/chickenlittle/ (http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/chickenlittle/)
It has quicktime, windows and realtime versions.
It looks average to me, but I'll give it a chance.

It's not the same trailer as the one posted in this thread. And both are looking quite nice, it will be interesting to see what they do with this :)
I had no idea of what it was about after first teaser...
but this one gives me hope...
and I really love the design of this...hum...destroyed duck ? or whatever she is supposed to be...

yeah, I'd already seen the Quicktime teaser. one can only hope we'll see a Quicktime of the actual trailer soon. until then, the Mac audiences of the Internet will have to wait patiently.
correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the feature directed by Glenn Keane, right? that alone gives me hope. that guy is one of the best animators to ever walk the planet.

Meah......
Trailers can be misleading, its going to take alot to convince me to see this movie, especialy concidering this movie follows Brother Bear and Home on the Range.
I personaly think the true magic of disney was lost quite awhile ago. Although I can usualy find something I like about some of there modern day movies (Atlantis had some great animation and I loved how countless innocents blatently died throughout the film. May not be the best message to the kids and all, but good to know that someone got away with it. Gives me hope with the future of Mature, Domesticaly made Animated Features. Despite the fact that the over all story was absolute garbage.) But after Brother Bear and Home on the Range, I'm not going to see this till someone, who's opinion I value, sees it and says its worth my $9.75.
hum it's directeb by Mark Dindal (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0227540/)
Glenn keane last time we heard from him, was trying to reinvente the wheel on a feature about a princess with long hairs...lol...excuse me I don't remember the title...maybe..."Long Hair Princess"...
R&D disney folks were looking at a way to get 2D animation data transfer to 3D...hum...I say why not...but last time they tried so much to do something new....they ended with something called Dinosaurs...and forgot about the story...

Thats Repunzel and your right. Thats the show everyone at Disney is tryin to say away from. He is trying to give it a 2D feel since he was forced into doin it in 3D and its not due till 2008 and if it does come out then it would have been in production for about 8 years.

Because internet message boards are filled with the most negative, hyperbole ridden people on the planet.
Just because Disney has made some mistakes in the past doesn't mean they can never make a comeback.
Yep! Sooner or later Disney will turn the corner. Disney used to be in Pixar's shoes. You can only imagine what people will say when Pixar hits a rut, and they will sooner or later. Judging from the "Cars" trailer, it looks like it may be sooner rather than later, as that trailer looks awful as far as I'm concerned. Then again, I didn't see the big deal about "Finding Nemo" or "Shrek 2". Both were decidedly unoriginal and mediocre. Monsters Inc. was far better than both.

Not a fan of Disney lately, but I'm curious to see how this Chicken Little turns out. The writing looks fairly interesting... at least from what is on the trailer.
