View Full Version : lighting problem: cloudy day
captain scarlet 10-28-2004, 10:16 PM im trying to recreate this picture to the best of my abilities. im struggling to get a lighting setup that is right. im may be wrong but it doesnt look to me like there is a direct light source ie bright sunlight. whats the best way of setting up a scene??? is it just a case of using a greyish sky object with maybe some noise of some description to simulate clouds ( using the luminence channel )
thanks

I would use radiosity with just a sky object and maybe a couple of omnis. Or else you could use a light dome.

I wouldn't think it needed more than a direct light with area shadows and a grey sky.
Mayeb a LightDome would help you if you're not considering Radiosity.
Can't be too hard.
