Ok, this is my first sketch of what i'm intending to do. The basic idea is to portray a moment in the lives of a constantly moving civilisation. The sketch shows a huge floating home.

I'm thinking of doing the scene in a green-blue-gray tone, but i'm not sure. The aim of the sketch above was to get a feeling for the scene layout. There will be things happening on the ground and a few more air-ships aswell as some ground buildings like masts.
I really like this challange and i think there are good variations in the subject.
Good luck to everyone!!

This is the story that goes with my image:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Home Is Where the Heart Is
The future - mankind have drained the resources on almost every planet. The few people that still exists are in constant search for the small remains of sustenance. Although a peaceful civilisation its a harsh life in a inhospitable environment. But even in the darkest of days there is hope of a better tomorrow and still - home is where the heart is.

What do you think about it?

whoa, you've got a really strong concept going. Admittedly, it's nothing revolutionary, but i really like where you're taking this! You colours are nice, but seem a little too moody. Since the core of your concept is "Home is Where the Heart Is", I think there should be a hint of optimism, since this is essentially an optimistic saying. Maybe a sunset in the horizon, or if not some warm colours?
Hope to have helped!
Pls do visit my thread if you have the time, would appreciate your C&C!

keetmun: thanks for the c&c! :) It's a good point about the colours, will take that warm colours into consideration when working out my colour scheme for the image. Also nice point about a hint of optimism, got to think about that.
Thanks alot!
