View Full Version : CTRL-ing an edge extrude

Hopefully someone can help me with my latest problem/misunderstanding with R9? In R8 I could switch to edge mode, extrude a selected edge and by pressing the CTRL key I could do something like:

(technical term escapes me atm)

However, doing the same in R9 *only* changes the edge angle. Can someone point me to where I need to be to accomplish the picture (the technique, not the picture per se)? I have read and reread the Extrude section of the R9 manual, but did not find the answer to my particular question, only how to extrude an edge. period.

TIA everyone!

/Gary

Just posted this in another thread, but:

R9: bevel tool, set extrusion and inner offset to same value, set subdivision to one, set type to User, apply.

PITA, but it works.

Adam;

Thanks for that. I'll have to give it a go when I get home this evening. Does sound very PITA, and most unintuitive - but if it works, it works right!? LOL

Thanks again, and I'll let you know how I fare with it :D
