Very nice, love the modeling and textures.
The lighting seems to make the picture a little flat and boring,
I think ambient lighting is on? I could very well be wrong here tough... nice creature anyway :)

I like your design. Do you plan on giving him fur or hair or is this finished?

I think you could add a bit of wetness to his skin and some fall-off maps would help you skin a bit.
