Alright I know this has been asked a million times before (I've read through the various threads) especially this one http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33880&highlight=snow
and I was following the snow mdme_sadie (http://member.php?u=12603) had made and I was trying to play with the settings to get the snow material to mimic the snow in the attached picture (on the mountain). Honestly I don't know what the hell I'm doing..while I am interested in learning Cinema4d I haven't had the time to sit down and learn it like I could due to client work. Only reason I'm doing is because of my partners big mouth :(. Thanks in advance.

Don't have time to delve deep into this at the moment, but I just figured it's a good idea to consider that the lighting in particular has a MAJOR impact on the creation of snow such as in the attached image. Snow in itself mainly has an incredibly high diffuse reflectivity.... so what I'm saying is that for this kind of stuff, it's not necessarily the shader in particular you want to tweak....

very very hard to get that kind of realism, probably best met with a matte painted/ camera projection method rather than materials

I'm not aiming for the realism I'm just looking to produce a texture that's similar to the snow coverage on that particular mountain. Sorry I didn't clarify.
