View Full Version : Camera Rotation
Xilica 08-20-2002, 11:58 PM Hey all,
I have an object and I have a camera set up filming it. My only problem is I am trying to make an animation of that camera circling it. I know how to do so, but I was wondering how I could get the animation so it is on the same line with no fast areas or slow areas and where it is even speed and a smooth circle around the object. Thanks.

you could create a circle in the spline creation tools, then under the trajectories part of the motion manel, use the 'convert from' button to assign the circle as the cameras path. :)

create a dummy/helper at the center of the "circle" link the camera and target to the dummy/helper.
animate the rotation of the dummy the camera will circle the dummy
is that clear?

when the camera is on a path contraint, make sure to have constant velocity checked, for a circle it wont make any differents but for more complex splines it makes a difference.

"normalize" the spline....then it wont make a difference how spread and complex your path vertz are

Aight, Thanks for the help on trajectories, I got that down.
Only problem now is how do I get a trajectory to be 1000 or as many frames as I want instead of the normal 100. Also, how do I make the camera switch between trajectories or would I have to create two cameras then disable one and let the other camera take over?
Thanks,
Mike

make you timeslider have more than a 100 frames, then drag the keyframe to the desired frame. To change trajectories just a another keyframe somewhere in the middle, and adjust the % along path...
