View Full Version : Where to save files- new to xsi
Changeling 10-26-2004, 11:42 PM I have never been very neat, both physically and when it comes to organising my folders etc… mostly this is because one starts saving stuff before knowing how it is going to be accessed etc…
Starting afresh with XSI foundations (arrived 2 days ago) :) and everything seems to by default go to XSI-Samples folder.
a) is this where I should store things?
b) What happens if I uninstall / reinstall to that folder
c) What do others do with this regard….
Thanks in advance.

No, you'll want to leave the samples folder alone. What you should do is go to File->Project Manager. From there you can make a new project in a directory somewhere. Then you make that your default and everything should be set then.

thx shinova
so a new project will automatically have all the diff subfolders? should I keep the structure the same as XSI samples?

There is a very good video on 3D buzz's site that explains using the
project tool....will help you get things organized.
