View Full Version : How to apply self ilumination map only in shadows?

i want to self illuminate an object with a self-illumination map but only in the shadow part of the object.
the rest should be normal. How can i do this?

You can go into your material and put a falloff map in the self-illunmination slot. Go into the falloff map settings and change it to shadow/light. Now the 2 map slots in this falloff map will do what you need. The first slot will place any map it has in lighted areas.. and the 2nd slot will apply any map in shadowed areas.
Hope this helps. Also I might be backwards on which slot does what.

Thank you, i forgot about falloff and its shadow/light option...
this is exactly what i was looking for to give my planet the right look.
