Just trying to get into the egyption feel of things but I want to try and get a high tech element to it as well.

This figure will be the main focus of the image. I still need to add more detail to her but it is getting there.

I really like how you can have a clean line quality yet still retain a convincing feeling of spontaneity and movement. I' interested in seeing how you'll handle the futurinsic technology nt the piece and wht the landing area will look like if you're sticking with the idea. maybe it would be cool to see what it would be like once they're already established, and if they keep using futuristic technology for travel what would an egyptian landing pad look like, the smaller ships? just going out into left field there, but something to think about if you want.
good stuff!

Looking sweet Dirk.
Looking very sweet. I really like the character design work you have done so far.
A very cool idea looks like it will be really cool when its finished.
Now I just have to start something

Nice to see some egypt-influenced entry here!Because this piece is from dawn of mankind, you could make their technics more fantasy-like than, for this theme, cold hi-tech.I thing hi-tech meeting with egypt theme was explored more than enough in stargate series.Looking forward to see more from you.

Hi
Thanks for all the comments, I like the more fantasy idea and was thinking in the line of doing something more magical than hi tech. Who says pyramids can't fly. Here is just a bit more detail to the figure and I am thinking of using a traditional gold blue and white color scheme.

Hi, All my encouragement for your project to just perhaps follow....
attention to the proportion of the members?
Good luck

Looking good dirk looking good.
Its a 100000 times better than mine at the moment which comprises entirely of doodles that I did while I was studying.
Oh yeah and a box I made in 3D max.
None of which Ive posted so yeah I have some catching up to do.
The character looks really cool. The traditional blue, gold and white looks great so why change a good thing.
Could also play with the idea of gold pody paint (maybe in patterns etc)
maybe something like henna.

My first impression was of the her boots not really fitting in. How ever they may be looking good on her. But I think you are going for your own depiction of the scene and not exactly sticking to historical correctness.
Well dunno. Will have to see.
Your sketches are turning out very nicely. But as you convert them to digital I would personally advise you to go with Tranchefeux's comment. The proportions do seem a little 'odd'
Best of luck!!

Hi dloots,
Nice start.
May I suggest some little things ?
In my humble opinion, your egytian girl looks a litle too masculine, especially the face + chin combination. About the boots, I may think that you could replace them by partially nude feet, only covered by some sandal.
Anyway, this is cool. Longing to see more.
