so er... this is something to do with michael jackson?

(sorry, but it just seems destined to be lampooned. it's a rather unfortunately tagline and copy).

I'm sure it's their intention to make it suggestive.

nice ad!

nintendo has really got their ad department together and making some cool ads and commercials. i like those gba commercials with the retro 3d graphics in the background.

can't wait to touch one of those!

Gamespot reported that the DS will be Nintendo's largest, and most expensive, marketing blitz. They will be aggressively pursuing teens and young adults with ads in maxim, blender, and Stuff with ads like "How to score". They also have a spot planned with Steve-O and Chris Pontius(Jackass and Wildboyz) to demonstrate the wireless play...

I think Nintendo is making a mistake with the dual screen thing, but that's just me. The PSP looks so much better, just because of the screen size. Touching or not...

I guess Ill hold off on really disliking the thing until they demo what the purpose of the 2 screens are for.

If, by "mistake" you mean "sell boatloads of them", then yeah, they're making a hell of a mistake.

Yes, the PSP is quite cool in the style department, but I think you'll see that its battery life and price will help it collect a lot of dust on store shelves.

the two screens is a design issue. How would you be able to control metroid prime hunters with the touch screen if there was one screen? you wouldnt be able to see nothing.

I want to know how you are supposed to hold this thing while playing. For instance, if you control metroid with the stylus, how are you going to hit the buttons to shoot and hold on to the thing while doing it? Seems you need to have a table or something to set the DS on while you are playing. Anyone remember the VirtualBoy?

If Im able to do it with my wacom tablet that weights probably 5 times more than the ds, I see no problem with the ds

mrwilt... If you've seen the recent screenshots for Metroid then you'd know that there are something like 5 different control schemes. One of them doesn't even require use of the touchpad.

DS is bound to sell buttloads. I agree. For those who think this ad is too provocative, the Japanese ads are moreso.

Well, okay consider me simple-minded, but this seems too confusing and too complicated for me...

Watch the second movie. A stylus on a 2 inch screen? Hmm.

The screen just seems too small for all that 3D action as well. I dunno, maybe it will do really well, but it looks to me more like they couldn't figure out an effective way to make one large screen, so they opted for two dinky ones.

I've always been a Nintendo fan, original Nes up through Gamecube, but this is one system I'll probably pass on. The PSP might very well be the first Sony game system I'll buy.
