Hi...

I have an issue with Max6 not showing me the render window (the actual render itself)

I have checked and unchecked the "rendered window frame" but it doesn't appear to do anything.

I'm not sure if this ever worked because I've been working in a max5pipeline for a while

I unfortunately did install xp sp2...

could it be "offscreen" somewhere?

any suggestions greatly appreciated...

also if I have to remove xp sp2 then what "security steps " would I need to take -not having sp2

thanks in advance

hey!

I don't think you have a problem with SP2 (At least doesn't appear logical to me). MAybe you've lost it off the desktop or something.

in 3dsmax.ini search for the render window position, maybe you find that it's out the screen...who knows!

I hope I'm useful.

you could just rename your 3dsman.ini to .old or something and then start up Max so it creates another with defaults.

I didn't know you could junk your ini file to get defaults. I have problems with my material window disappearing in the lab I work in at school, this is really helpful.

wow I didn't know that either. Yet another reason I browse the max forums, always something new to learn.

save your old file though(rename it)

you can copy and paste your file history and path history... I never even looked at the ini file before this but now that I know what's in there ...
Don't forget the "suck less = 1"
and "click and crash = 0"
