View Full Version : Bubbles - where do I begin?

I'm new to using Maya and I'm trying to create a scene in which someone is blowing a bubble. You see the bubble(s) grow and then float away and eventually pop. I'm honestly not even sure where to begin. I'm particularly unsure of how to correctly get the material of the bubble and have it properly react to the environment when it moves. If anyone has suggestions or even better, a tutorial I could look at, that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

not sure if this will help at all, but paint effects has some bubbles that are animated. they may be more like under watter bubbles, but it might be worth checking out.

Could also just model the bubles and animate them. If you won't be using a lot of bubbles, you might as well use blendshapes or something like that. Guess that will be loads faster than figuring out the dynamics
