You probably hear about next limits new project: the Mawell render engine.
there is already in thread in the news section so I' just post the link here to it again
Maxwell (http://www.maxwellrender.com/)
Now, what I tried to do is to recreate a certain scene from their gallery. My results look like this: http://www.ag-systems.net/images/maxwell_match_copy.jpg

It has been done in the 3ds max 7 trial version and took 8 min to render on a athlon XP 2600+ with 1 Gig of Ram.
I'd like to share the 3ds file with you for anyone who wants to give it a try as well.
file (http://www.ag-systems.net/tutorials/maxwell_match.zip)
(right click/save target) You have to adjust the image aspect ratio to 0.54645 with a pixel aspect of 1.0 to get the same proportions.
