you could put keyframes on the X-effect, Y-effect & Z-effect tracks, & when you dont want anymore spring, change them all to 0

Hey.. thanks for replying so fast.. :)

u mean making all those keyframes after i want the spring to stop and setting them all to one position?
cause its kind of a "big" animation (not really that big).... i wouldnt want to handle that many keyframes
yah.. im lazy.. =/
is there another solution? =(

thanks

it should only be a matter of setting 2 keyframes. Eg at frame 20 you want the full effect of the spring controller, so set a keyframe on the X,Y & Z effect tracks, set it at 100%. Then you dont want the spring at frame 25, set another key for the XYZ effect tracks & change it to 0. That should be all you have to do...

Hey.. thanks again for replying :)

didnt work for me.. :( i couldnt get the spring to be animated..

i first tried animating the spring values.. but it seems like values have to be the same the whole animation

then i tried changing the X,Y&Z setting it at one keyframe at 100 then on another to 0 but only thing that happened is the values of position increased and the spring was calculated after it all...

i dunno.. maybe im doing it wrong...
any ideas?

thanks

Hmm, I just tested it out & it seemed to work fine, I'll tell you what I did - see if you can replicate it...

create a box
animate it moving from left to right
put a keyframe around the middle with the box moved up to the top of the viewport, add another keyframe a few frames earlier with the box at the bottom of the viewport.

if you play the anim, the box should go from left to right, shoot up in the middle & them move back down to the right

now assign a spring controller to the position track, set its mass to something massive like 3000 & the tension to 1

if you now play, the box should sway back & forth like a drunk leaving a pub.

now, go back into trackview & assign keys to the X effect, y effect & z effect (Not the X position, Y position & Z position tracks!) key it so at frame 1 it is 100 & at frame 100 it is 0. Now when you play the animation, any sway should gradually fade out to nothing by frame 100...

That seemed to work for me, are you sure you wernt keying the actual position tracks, not the spring effect tracks?

it worked.. thank you SO MUCH!!!

this is so embarrassing.. rofl.. cause i was doing the wrong thing.. i was changing stuff on the X,Y,Z effect.. but some other stuff that didnt quite... do the same thing.. hehe =P

thank you :)
