View Full Version : WinXP Pro SP1 Welcome screen

Hi all,
Well somehow i turned off this feture.
Now I want it back, but it doesnt allow me to change it from the
users accounts - change the way users log on/off - Use the welcome screen.
Although I click on this option it doesnt do anything.
When I go back to this menu its still unchecked.
So, I was wondering
where else in winXP can I change this behaviour.
I think is somewhere in the policies.
Can someone point me to the exact location ?

And If I have change this from a third program does it really matter?
Will it come back?

Grab a copy of StyleXP, it will let you default the login screen as well as let you use a custom one. http://www.tgtsoft.com/prod_sxp.php

I'm not really sure why its not keeping your setting, thats odd. Only other place I can think to override that is in the registry but I don't remember what the key is. Google is your friend!

I finaly found it. its in the group policy editor (start-run....- gpedit.msc)
I totaly forgot about it.
