Hi,
I've just began to animate this year using 3dmax6. I'll be posting alot of animations in the future since I'll be making it a habit to animate something new at least everyday along with wallkcycles etc..

So today I made a cyclinder man jumping:

(Save-As would be best)

Hi there, I'm also like you, learning how to animate.. In my opinion, when the cylinder Man landed, it seems to be abit too fast for him to walk away.. Anyway, good try.. :thumbsup:

Great start :thumbsup: MattVogt. Couple of things. The motion is to gittery (did I spell that right?) smoth out his curves also he has kind of a pimp walk. He leans to the right a lot more than the he does to the left. Also the speed of his walk is to fast slow him down a little. The jump is fine just the walk. Also hold his landing positon for a couple of frames.

Hey.. Matt...I noticed that the knees are bending before the character's feet touches the ground on the jump. It would help sell the jump is you straighten the legs out a little to brace for the impact and then have the weight of the characters body cause the knee to bend on impact. Doing that would give a better feeling of weight on the landing. I hope that helps..

he needs more anticipation before the jump; give him more time before getting up to add weight;

now he seems too light and in a hurry :)
