Well, let's see if I'll reach the finish line. :argh:

Ok, here's the first idea. Called "Coming home"

The war is over. And finally the first ships begin to return from the frontline, reaching home, the moon sized base in the orbit of an old and hostile planet. Some kids (the 2 boxes to the left, yeah) have spotted the ships and are waving. A third one (the sphere headed one to the lower right) is coming at a run, for watching daddys ship entering the dock. Only the maintanance droid is completely unaffected by the scene.

Since ages huma mankind is exploring space, never finding proof for any other intelligent life. But this friday afternoon, Captain Kennit of the ironore-freighter T-2553 gets the shock of his life, when on his home route suddenly 3 strange vessels cross their path. Now what shall he do?

Interesting concept.
I want to know more about the vessels.

The vessels are inspired by the alien vessels in Abyss, a really nice design. The surface is kind of tranluscent. Mine are a little mor crowne shaped.
But I don't know if I will stick with the overall concept, I'm not too sure about it. Let's see if I can't come up with something better.

the second Idea is a lot better than the first, but I think that it will be really hard to make those translucent vesels look "space-like".

Hi Nico..................Nice concept/thoughts..................I prefer the 1st one somehow.I like the scope, the potential.Perhaps a touch more of a vertical look, but a nice start. Those Abyss vessels really were a beautiful piece of work. All the best to you.:arteest:

I've got say the first idea really appeals to me in some way, again with the bringing the grand events of the world down to the lives of an insignificant few. (the kids not the fighter pilots...) But on the other hand the second concept does provide some more scope for epic imagery and some very cool VFX work.

If I had to make a decision on which one to go with, the second concept might be the better bet, also a good framing opportunity through the panels.

Looking forward to seeing more, see if we can't both figure ourselves out soon.

Dave.
