Some ideas
A Civilization fleeing a cataclysm and taking three planets with them at near 1c.
A fleet of planetoids, ships the size of the moon
An asteroid or maybe even a moon crashing into a planet. A fleet is there, but it's unclear if it's trying to stop it or making sure any defenders don't stop it
I'm not sure how original these ideas are. It's hard to come up with somehing truly new.

Another idea is a huge automatic tank that has been destroyed in combat, but the hull is stil long time after the battle mostly intact, since it takes a lot of killing.
This could also be a spaceship, maybe in space and maybe crashed to a palnet

This is what I plan to do, this is just something simple I made to illustrate what I want to make.
It's the dark area, the great empires have fallen after an almost total devastating war that outright destroyed many planets and others was sterilized in the battles for control. Pirates are roaming and take anything of value from people that can not defend themselves. Some of the surviving planets are those that had some technology and managed to defend them selves from destruction, not that they did get enough destruction in the way. Others were untouched by the war because they were unimportant colonies that nobody bothered attacking.
The world I am going to make my challenge on is on of those that was brutally damaged in the war and of the great cities only ruins was left. The people have moved out of the ruins from the great city because they are useless without technology like power and moved to more rural settlements. At the great battles several great self aware tanks was destroyed, but at least one of them was only damaged so that it could not continue in the battle. All though the tanks are old they was a lot more powerful than anything that has jet to be made after the great war since so much knowledge was lost.
Now centuries after the war somebody is coming to the planet again, and they are not friendly. I am not sure if it's pirates that are going to attack, or some alien empire. I have to find out about that later

I am of course going to round the edges, but I have to decide what I want to do before doing more. I might also change how may challenge will be.
