nice theme... i love these challenges, gives you something to work towards, with a deadline.

here are two concept stories i have thought up... tell me what you think!

Crop Circles:

As time goes on humans learn more of the crop circle origins. We begin to understand that their is no alien life forms involved in thier creations. But as some scientisrts predidcted early on in the 21st century that they were warning signs designed by our creator, whim or whatever it was, warning us of the inevitible destruction that we unleash upon its own masterpiece each and everyday, plantet earth. But we continue to ignore these predictions and warnings and near 100 years on, judgemnet day arrives...

Santa Claus:

The north and south poles melt due to global warming. Now emerges another race from a far galaxy to take over planet earth and banish it's inhabitants, hoping to rebuilt the eutopia we had destroyed. Unfortunately the damage was already done but what emerges from the last of the melting ice caps to the North not even the late nastradamus could have predicted.... SANTA CLAUS! The new inhabitants are close to stumbling across his presence (or presents). They no nothing of his giving nature and wholesome chuckles and personality. Will he be discarded and thrown out like the humans were? Or will they begin what the humans had once done and bring Chritmas into their new watery homes.

ones more serious and ones supposed to be a little funny... comments?

Absolute Basic Idea put down. This is the Santa Claus concept. Hes thawing out, the grey rectangles in the backgoround are where the new inhabitants buildings will be.
Santas reindeer are either underwater, frozen or something else. No idea of composition or colours or ANYTHING yet.

a new idea. A normal skydiver stumbles across a sort of whirlwind while leaping out of the plane, making him skydive upwards towards space. He flys towards a huge cloud above him, much higher than the others. as he whisks through it, he discovers a lost cloud city, right here on (or above) earth!
Noone knows of this city still as our skydiver friend never returned to earth. The cloud city could have inhabitants either friend or foe...

i recon il go with the crop circle idea. basic idea once again.. i might have an "iconic" figure in the foreground, a cult leader of somesort, his beliefs totally shattered as he sees the crop circles creator coming.
il show this in his expression.

ok, heres one that i might stick with...

humans have began to colonize mars, slowly venturing out further to space. we began to get greedy as we were destroying our own planet. The sun god, our life source is angered by us and decides we are selfish and greedy so he takes revenge.

Santa's dope. I say make his reindeer "subma-reindeer" and have them search for the lost city of Atlantis. I know in the future its gotta be just hella hard for Santa to bring toys to all the little boys, girls, and three-eyed slug children across the universe... hell, I cant imagine how hard it is to do it just on one planet, let alone an entire universe. I say have him look for a place where he can retire, get a tan, and chill with some sexy mermaids. He deserves it.

Our galaxy is in turmoil. For centuries Intergalactic civilizations from the outer reaches of space have been attempting to visit our galaxy because of legends of a perfect planet. Some come in peace, most dont... We are oblivious to this as Our sun god flares once in a while to defend our planet and our galaxy, these battles are usually over within minutes as our sun can overcome these attacks. But one race of nasties we would call "space pirates" have developed a way to breach our sun from learning of stolen maps and passed down legends of our sun god. and THEY ARE COMING!

just to show that i want huge rays of light coming out from within.. im still not sur how im going to apprach the sun texture... little green things resemble the alien ships piercing the sun god.
