Title: Blue Hunchback
Name: Don Seegmiller
Country: United States
Software: Painter

This is an image that I did for the release of Painter IX. Was playing with the digital watercolor and colored pencils (slight variations made to the brushes) Took a couple of evenings and was great fun.

lol, now thats a hunch. Love the colours you used here, and the marks look very much like natural media. Tell me, did that background take as long to create as it looks? - or was there some kind of custom painter brush that helped you do it in half the time?

I like his sad / mad eyelid expressions, great image.

Thanks all for the kind remarks and I love the idea that he has a second head. I think I will need to explore that idea a bit.
The background was very easy and hardly took any time at all. Included with the new version of Painter is a tutorial of how I did this image. Now I don't really care if you buy the next version...I am just saying that right now I can't go into in great detail how I painted the background....corporate thing ya know :)

awesome character!! just think his left hand looks a little strange (at his little finger) because he is supposed to be holding the stick but his hand is a little too closed.. other than that its awesome!!

Just want to thank everyone for their comments. Sometimes I get looking at something so long that I can't see the "forest for the trees" so to speak and love to get the suggestions and ideas from others. Thank you also for the compliments. Hope to have something new soon.

Cheers

Argl!... Don Seegmiller?! THE Don? Is this possible???
Here, in France, the books on Painter do not exist. So I bought your book "Digital Character Design and Painting" a few months ago. It is now my book of bedside (I hope that that means some thing).
you are for me a Master, a reference

Oh! Obviously this Blue Hunchback is :bounce: :buttrock:
